Drawing and parts list available at: https://sellfy.com/p/ChZI/
Started with a 5" concrete slab, then used 43 cinder blocks, 450 used bricks, 50 fire bricks and made 2" concrete plates for the grill support, counter-top and roof. The Argentine grill is a modified drop-in with stainless V-grate, bolted it straight to the concrete/steel structure. Burning Hickory or hardwood charcoal = awesome food !

Ralf Gomm How long did it take you to build this?

It took about 8 weeks to the first fire. Then another few weeks to finish detail work like the small tile, handles ect. It wasn't too bad really. Mostly weekend work and a few hours each night.

+Ralf Gomm where did you get the metal grill lift?

+LordSear1982 The grill assembly is from Engelbrecht Grills & Cookers. There are other suppliers but I liked the design and price point. And it works really well.

I am going to buy Argentine Style Grill and BBQ Smoker Plan (PDF) for my hubby to build. Love that you are donating 50% of all proceeds to St. Jude's children hospital. This grill/smoker looks beautiful. I am looking forward to your part 2 video of you using the grill and smoker.

Hey. Thanks for the reply.
No, I think the smoker is great, I just think that the metal plate and pipe are in sharp contrast with the rest of the beautiful structure.
I watched several videos on these types of BBQs and I saw someone who build a tapered brick chimney on top of what you already have, and finished it off with a cement rim with a slot to fit a metal slide, so you could adjust airflow. I think that would have looked great on your creation.

Yup, I think you are spot on. What you describe reminds me of a traditional Argentine grill design with tapered brick chimney. The Home Depot pipe was fast & cheap. That's not how we're supposed to do it :-( Next one...

Not only a sweet grill but an even better editing job. The marching building materials was hilarious.

Your film making style is mad, but I love it. A work of art, both the video and the finished grill/smoker!

That grill is top, did you have someone make it for you. A lot of restaurants are adopting that now over the gridiron/castiron style. Very Good!

The grill is awesome. There are a few suppliers in the US that offer this style, I got mine from Engelbrecht Grills - the Braten model with stainless Argentine grate. It functions flawlessly since two years now.
